Hall Road - Completed 2004

The owners of this home wanted to replace a deteriorating two car garage with a two bedroom, one bath addition above an “oversized” two-car garage. The new addition also includes a classic New England “mudroom” entry, a laundry room, a workshop and a wood shed. Oak hardwood floors, cathedral ceilings and stone floors with radiant heat are featured throughout.

Woodstock English Barn Restoration

This fascinating restoration project began with the owners hoping to save and put to use an 18th century 30’ x 40’ hand-hewn, mortise and tenon English barn. This barn had miraculously survived for over 225 years, and on my first visit, it was evident that this barn was going to require a great deal of work and creativity in order to refurbish its exhausted frame into a finished living space. We raised the building, placed it on a new foundation, rebuilt its frame and converted it into a two bedroom, open loft home with a full kitchen and two bathrooms. The converted barn features super insulation, fifteen-inch wide plank floors over a radiant heat system and a wonderful Rumford stone fireplace built by a team of talented masons using local stone quarried from nearby Chester, Vermont.
